I think we can all agree that 2020 was a year like no other. This time last February, we were blissfully unaware of the world in which we would soon find ourselves. Masks only came out at Halloween, quarantine was something we read about in history books, and Corona was best enjoyed ice cold with a lime wedge. Twelve months later, all that has changed. 

However, this award and your encouragement have reminded us that, despite its challenges, 2020 was full of silver linings. After work became remote and school moved from the classroom to the living room, we enjoyed more quality time with our children and spouses than ever before. Though we were stuck at home, the pause in our busy schedules gave us the opportunity to rekindle long-abandoned hobbies or try our hand at new ones. We became novice gardeners, amateur sourdough bakers, and so much more.   

Above all, 2020 reminded us what is truly important in life. When the world ground to a halt, we were forced to slow down and consider our priorities. We learned not to take time, health, and loved ones for granted. Perhaps your experience over the last year has led you to begin considering what you family would do if something happened to you.
